They Came at me at work.......
by delilah inthere is a "sister" and her daughter, that come to visit different ones at my place of business.
they usually come about 3 times a month, to read a scripture or a paragraph from a magazine, to a couple of people.
they then say hello to me, and leave after making their wt and awake placements.

I don't want to be nasty, but I have a job to do. If they want to "encourage" me, then they are welcome to do it on THEIR time, not count the time in service.
If that's the way you feel you should be able to tell them exactly that. JW women are taught and expected to be submissive - well that crap's over for us. We (myself included) need to be more assertive. I don't speak up about every little thing I find irritating, but I do tell people how I feel and why much, much more readily than I used to. Whether people always get the point is not the issue, I do it to make ME feel better. Then I'm not stewing over the situation because of what I DIDN'T say, or thinking of what I could have said.

If they come down my street with a bullhorn I'll call the cops. Disturbing the peace and all that. I hope they do start using bullhorns. People will just think their crazy and laugh at them.
They might have a shot in some urban commumities but if they went into the burbs around here they'd be asked to leave by the local deputies PRONTO! Anyhow ... I really don't believe anyone would do this. Come on now, don't they already seem crazy enough as it is?

Kingdom Halls across the U.S. rejoiced at the directive issued by leading Witness elders last week.
Yeah, right. I'm sure the already exasperated dubs were dancing in their seats over this one . They must be trying to weed out those not truly devoted to the GB. Prepare to be boarded ... they'll be coming here in droves!!!

The more we respond to her with logical arguments, the more she thinks she's becoming a marter. If we were to either ignore her or agree with her, she'd have left long ago. The truth is, this type of personality likes conflict, and more concerned with proving its superiority than being Christian or finding truth. I add my vote for the suggestion that we all ignore her, until she learns to communicate. Otherwise, while this might be temporarily entertaining, we're just wasting our time.
I wholeheartedly agree jd. This is not about the truth, it's about her viewpoint being the only correct one, and about her being a good Christian or even a better Christian than those who disagreed with her about the 'seriousness' and correctness of her issue. This is Hibs issue, but she wants to make it Jesus' issue and our issue. She made the statement initially and has doggedly held onto its importance for 2 days and 16 pages and counting. Even going so far as to say who should and should not celebrate Christmas. What's the point? Such arrogance .

I thought it was Juvenile who was raised a witless? As for Prince, I stopped liking his music a long time ago. He's just weird enough to be a witnoid. He's been dying for the end to come. More power to him (and mo money, mo money, mo money for mother).

anyone ever find raising children as jw's.....
by orbison11 inwas, at times difficult, due to all the restrictions placed on them, .
which led to strains in the parent/child relationships,,,,,, then years later, after that child had grown and had children,,,had,,,well, come back to you.

It's OK orbi ...all we can do is the best we know how to at the time. Hopefully your children will forgive and move on. I had issues with my upbringing and my mother wasn't JW!!! But once I had a child of my own I understood, because I hoped my son would forgive me for the mistakes I was bound to make. Now that he's grown and spent 12 years of his life being exposed to a cult we've talked about how that affected him. He told me he never believed it was the truth, never planned on getting baptized, hated the meetings (except for fact that he could associate with likeminded youths afterwards ) and he planned to leave behind as soon as he turned 18. All the witnessing I did to his teachers didn't mean a thing (LOL LOL LOL), he did what he wanted and was as 'normal' as he could be under the circumstances.
The only answer to your dilemma is forgiveness ... start by forgiving yourself and communicating with your children about what's going on in their lives now. No need to revisit the past, it won't change anything that has happened, will it? Learn from you mistakes and move on.
Blood IS thicker than mud ... draw close to your family.
